We all know it. That little panic inside us when the kids finally go to sleep - whether it's for a nap or for good at night - and we feel like we have to immediately start chiseling away at our mile long to do list. I literally go into panic mode when I exit Zoe's room sometime. Looking around and evaluating what and how much of it I can get done before she wakes up.
This week, I've totally decided to not do any of it. When she napped, I napped too, or I just sat down and looked at Amazon. I didn't do laundry, I didn't work on my blog and I sure as cheese didn't clean the bathroom. Moms tend to feel like they have to be super moms all the time. And that's not right. We need to take care of ourselves if we want to actually be present for our babes. I've been so exhausted at one point that I am super glad I captured the moment on camera because otherwise I wouldn't have remembered it. Sleep deprivation gets to you.
By the way, I'm writing this at 7:30am while Zoe is still asleep. I could've showered by now, eaten breakfast and had my first cup of coffee. Maybe even thrown in a load of laundry. But I'm still in bed, typing this on my phone. Give yourself grace and take care of yourself mama. You deserve it.
