Being a mother is super glamorous. At one point today, I made Zoe laugh so hard she actually threw up part of her lunch. Naturally, it landed on my head. So now, I am sitting here with a banana, raspberry and oatmeal pouch combo in my hair. It has since dried and I can't wait to attempt and ultimately fail at brushing it out tomorrow. But hey! I actually managed to brush my teeth this morning before rushing out the door to make it in time for our 8:40am pediatrician's office. You win some and lose some.
Point being, don't be so hard on yourself. I get it, though, you see that fancy insta mom with her hair all done, pushing the perfectly dressed baby around in her stroller while shopping with a Starbucks latte in her hand and you wonder what in the world went wrong with you. Let me be the one to tell you that nothing is wrong with you, in fact, everything is right. The spit up on your 4 day old shirt, the not so hot messy bun. It's all normal. Even the insta mom agrees, because, like us, she knows what motherhood is really like. She's just really good at cleaning up long enough to snap a pic of herself looking like she has it all together.
So yes. Being a mother is really super glamorous. And it's all worth it. Spit up in hair and all.
